This came from a member in the 60-66 forum. I also had another member in 67-72 forum tapping(M7X0.75)a hole near his speed warning knob to install an alternative pot I offer.

Actually, i am making a speed warning mounting nut, with the m7x.75 threads to accept the locking nut on the pot. Bought the 1/2" aluminum hexagon stock from mcmaster carr, and found the tap on line. Drilled the knob to accept the pot shaft....
Plans are to mount the pot near the ws wiper switch, but on the same planes as the speed warning control cable
