Could be the Q-jet also has vacuum secondaries, so the engine only demands what it needs...? I have little experience with them, all bad, but I guess back in the day with full corporate support, they worked OK. The Re-mans you get from Checker Auto and the like all suck.
Pulltill-- Carter used to make a 400 CFM AFB. [It's not commercially viable for Edelbrock to go that small now.] Can you lift the numbers from the front passenger-side "foot"?
