That 366 will be a PITA. Tall deck motors in general are hard to work with. I had a killer tall-deck 427 .070 stroked to 496 with an 8-71 blower on it. I sold it because exhaust was going to be so expensive and built a low deck 427.
If you have to have it, try to get all the parts you can from the donor.
If you want get out cheap, keep the SBC.
