He never mentioned the VW much...other than saying he owned one once. The only cars he really talked about were the Corvette..a 61 C10 Apache, and the first car he ever owned a 40 Ford Coupe Deluxe...when he was 14! He later found another 40 Ford and restored it...kept it for 30+ years and sold it about 5 years before he passed away.

Yeah I noticed the price of the Olds...$39.3k in today's money...crazy amount for back then...or was it. LOL
