Re: My 66 Mustang

I bought mine in 2012. I've put about 35K miles on it, mostly from 4 hot rod power tours. I've been as far as 18 hours from home!

I bought a nice paint car and redid the interior, swapped to a T5, rebuilt the rear end, rebuilt the front suspension, replaced the timing chain and went from a 2V to a summit 4V on an edelbrock performer, and added vintage air. It's a nice cruiser.

The engine is an old 0.040 289 rebuild, and it's tired. I rebuilt the T5 about 20K miles ago, it ran low on fluid and is not happy. I plan to replace the motor with a roller 302 and the T5 with a T5Z and bump the rear again from a 3.25 to a 3.55.

All down the road, car still runs and drives decent. I'm in the middle of a huge shop build right now.

I highly recommend street or track for suspension components. They have everything from mild to wild for handling. I have their roller spring perches, GT front and rear springs, and their Solid mount Strut rods. I also did the "shelby drop."
