The inlet/outlets on the AC heaters are almost a foot long and they curve up to the corner of the heater box because the heater core mounts at an angle. The AC tubes are so long that there is a support on the side of the heater box to hold them in place.

The non AC heater core has the tubes coming straight out at the top and bottom and they are only about 3" long. If you looked at them side by side the differences will be very obvious.
