If your VIN is CS148Zxxxxxx [or KS] then your truck was originally equipped with an L6 engine. If it's CE148Zxxxxxx [or KE] then the 283 V8 could be original. Hard to say on a 51 year old truck.
In my experience the finger guards were only on L6 trucks.
Wouldn't any radiator shroud for an SBC V8 fit?
