Ok guys, thanks for all the info, I picked up the cable operated version. Went through Summit, they had $25 off.

I need to cut a hole in the floor. From what's been posted here, it looks like the shifter location can be moved as needed for clearance with the seat/dash - or at least easier with the cable/floor mount model shifter.

I had planned on cutting a hole straight up from where the cable attaches to the transmission.
Good starting point or go with another reference?
