I got some answers about the oil quantity.

Over on Jolly's site, I asked them. They gave me measurements for the pan, the dipstick length overall, how far the dipstick "cap" is from the end, and finally, how far the dipstick tube sticks up out of the block. Everything matched except the height of the tube. The 305A with the 6 quart pan should be at 14", and mine is at 16", so therein lies the problem.

Next question is, what would be the best way to get the tube out without damaging it? It is rock solid in there, with the top clamp removed. I tried tapping it in further, tried jiggling it side to side, and tried twisting it. No movement at all.

Any suggestions?
