were both the inner and outter pads evenly worn? it's possible that the caliper pistons or more likely the caliper slides are binding. these two scenarios would cause pitted rotors and uneven pad wear.
do the brakes function normal?
FYI GM used some real crappy metal for the rotors and substandard rear caliper mounting.
