I'm wondering what that "quiet pop" was when you loosened the intake bolt to get the bracket mounted. I'm guessing the intake bolt you needed to remove is in the same area that you found the coolant puddled up? Maybe the cooling system still was under some amount of pressure and forced the intake gasket to come loose? If my theory is correct it would also explain the coolant puddle because it traveled up and past the intake bolt. Furthermore if that were the case, I think it would explain the brief white "smoke" upon start up. I bet it was steam and not smoke. If anyone has a better idea I'm curious.

Anyways, your truck looks like one chilly driveway ornament.
