Hot cam is designed to work with stock ls6/LS3 valvetrain. It has a choppy idle and is known to surge at low rpm like a bigger cam, but has relatively tame specs overall. You’ll still need a tune like any other cam too. If you’re looking for a cam that can be reliable and not break parts and will lope in a parking lot it’s a fine choice. But there are other cams that will be more driveable and deliver a lot more hq and tq.

For example a 376/480 crate LS3 with a hot cam dynos only slightly higher than a bolt on LS3.
