Listed as an option on the vehicle RPO tag, but essentially it wasn't like something a customer could pick & choose, the whole vehicle came that way from the 'factory' as a joint thing between GM and Chinook. A particular color combo set of Blazers / Jimmys ('76 colors
here, '77s
here) were pulled off the line, sent somehow to Chinook who plopped the campers permanently on (bolted down with the camper electrics spliced into the main wiring), and then sent back to GM for distribution.
Regarding the one at the shop you saw, any chance you could return there and snag pics? I'm the guy who tries to track all of these still in existence, and I could especially use the camper
serial # & build date, along with the VIN of the truck.
