Re: Towing with lifted Jimmy

It will do it, but not the best choice. The 6" lift I am assuming will have 37" tires? The 104" wheel base isn't exactly suited to a lot of trailer weight. Even though brakes and diffs are upgraded to 1 ton stuff, the extra height and short length can be a handful.

I towed my 3000# ski boat setup with mine for a long time. 4" all spring lift and 35" tires. Truck had 1/2 ton running gear mostly but is 9.5" 14 bolt with 13" drums and 8 lug Dana 44 front. Tandem axle trailer and surge brakes helped.

As long as the speeds aren't too high and the trailer too heavy, you should be ok. But since I got my extended cab duramax truck in '04 and with 70 mph speed limits the norm, the Jimmy is a cruiser now.
