I got a new one, and got a copy to take to the DMV while I was at it. I went up to the DMV counter, and presented my renewal paperwork, and explained that my last name was two words and that I'd like to have that fixed (after 45 years- I didn't say that!). The gal looked down her nose, sniffed, and said, "We'll need a birth certificate", whereupon I whipped it out of the envelope and placed it at low velocity
on the counter, BAM. My spawn still can't get the California DMV to get it right. ???
