Re: 1968 GMC C10 - Ben's got new steel

Thanks. It was slow going. But now its really taking shape. Seeing more progress with less work!

I paid a company to do the windshield. I was scared I might break it. I have done a back window before (string and weather stripping) but was a bit scared about doing the windshield and the curves. I think it was $488 all done.

Spray Job outside... Do not recommend anyone do this! The amount of prep and bodywork, find yourself somewhere indoors to spray.

That said, the Red had a lot of things fly into it. Bugs, spores... dust. I didn't spray the roof grey for a week or so. The grey came out much better. (different day, and perhaps the bugs don't care for Grey!) Because I didn't spray the grey right away, I had to scuff it with a green pad and that took away all the imperfections.

Do many people do the windshield themselves? I thought about it, but for $100, they installed it.
