I believe they can share the same volume (someone double check me though) as long as there in phase (they go in and out at the same time, if you wire them up the same they should be) and they are the same kind of sub woofer. I want to say you would use double the volume of a single sub though since the subs are displacing twice the air. On mine though I just went ahead and ran separate volumes.
