Re: 1951 Chevy value help

I think the guys are a bit high but that's just me and the area I live in. Here locally that is probably a 3 to 4k truck if you can drive it down the road without real issues. In other areas of the country where rust eats trucks up or less are available they may go for a lot more in the same condition.

One thing is that you can check the local craigslist for used 20/30 year old work/go to the dump trucks and see what the average price for decent driver quality trucks is and figure that the 51 probably fits right in that average pricewise.

Here locally and I don't know the condition:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/4355514343.html

The first one is a total project but has some good pieces and the second one is a driver that needs paint but appears to have a decent engine. It is a longbed which knocks the price down about 25% though.

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
