Re: Decided to take my 81" GMC off the road

Current engine was assembled this summer think i took it out of the yard about 3 or times. LT4 HotCam, Z06 Beehives, new valve seals, oil pump, fuel pump, true roller timing chain, HEI Distributer with 65,000v coil, Edelbrock 750, and Intake in a 5.7 Vortec. Engine just wasnt what I expected. I read all the 350-400hp stories and got sucked in. I'm going back with what always worked for me... .030 over, deck block, flat tops, shave heads, either a Competition or Engle camshaft and getting rid of this vacuum secondary for a double pumper, 2200stall and 373 gears or bigger depending on wheel size.

I have 3 engine blocks now to choose from:
1. old model 1970 Nova 350 block(complete engine in my shed)
2. 1996 suburban 5.7 roller block(already in my possession)
3. 2000 GMC 5.7 vortec(already in my possession)

would love to get my hands on a 6.0

I have an option of transmission:
1. 350(in the truck)
2. 375(in my shed)
3. 700R4-my neighbor runs a transmission shop
also... while the engine is out Stitch will be hooking me up with new seat covers, getting new carpet, dash pad etc... I'm messaging the body and doing a 4/6 drop. Still hadnt decided on wheel size yet(or if I'm doing a mini tub job).. Not sure if I want 20x8 vs 22x8 up front, or 22x10 vs 24x10 rears, and a new audio system is waiting to go in.

turning the liscense plate in today... I'm a little behind schedule from the cruise we just came back on
