The point of putting them up is that these are all stock Jeep roll bars, fairly thin wall thickness tubing only attached to the body and they hold up fine in some pretty serious accidents.

if you want to attach your plate to the frame I would recommend using some type of bushing. Or better yet just tie it to a body mount.

There isn't much benefit in going with an overly thick plate, more importantly use gussets. Even small gussets will multiply the strength of the cage.
