The adapter cost me $16 and some change at O'reillys.
There are no 4 barrel intakes available for these unfortunately. So either you'd have to machine your manifold to fit directly to the 4 barrel or use the adapter. Having used it myself and still do I can say it makes a big difference. Now having my manifold machined would make things even better But, this will do for now. lol Keep up with the project. Some guys just have different views is all.
