Are you sure that it has a 205? I thought that the 203 was used in the '73s. Anyway, I just pulled the tranny and 203 out of my truck, rebuilt the tranny and then put it all back in. I used a transmission adapter for a floor jack to drop them out. I pulled the transfer case first, and man that thing was heavy! The tranny was easy compaired to the t-case. I wouldn't try to pull them both at once, it is way too heavy! You should be able to rent a tranny jack from the local rent-a-tool place or they sell some at JCWhittney or HarborFreightTools.
