Project isn't dead in the water, life has just got in the way. Since I started this thread, we had our first child, I finished my bachelor's degree, we bought a new house, I got laid off, we had our second child, and I started a new business.
My father's new workshop will hopefully be in use by the fall. The construction is 100% complete, he's finishing up repairs on a brand new 2014 CRV he bought that was wrecked when the dealership was unloading it off the truck (bought it for $13 or 14k off sticker), and saving up cash so he can get the new shop insulated
