Kinda, sorta, but not necessarily. Completely agree, it is a Sierra trim truck per the RPO code, but this misaligned nomenclature use has been seen before. Certainly not a 4-eyes expert by any stretch, but this anomaly has been seen on other Fremont plant GMC trucks. Below are two "Sierra Grande" SPIDs - one Z84 (also from Fremont...) with Grande description (like the brown/white K2500 above) and one "Sierra Grande" with the expected YE9 RPO. Unfortunately the VIN/assemply plant is chopped off. Some weirdness like this has been seen on Chevs also - but "up-naming" is not common on Chevs, mostly "dual-naming" wherein both Z84 and YE9 appear on the same SPID. I HAVE, however, seen the "up-naming" on some Oshawa-built Z84s wherein a Cheyenne is labeled on the SPID as a Cheyenne Super (3rd pic).
