That reminded me of one my buddy did. He was driving a semi and the air compressor blew a head gasket. He coasted into a truck stop. yep cardboard box gaskets do last, other odd thing we learned and used was business cards to set mag to flywheel air gap and points.
1 for air gap, 2 for setting points. since their thicknes was uniform, even though we had feeler gauges in our tool boxes.
