It could just be a float adjustment. If there was trash in your new carb, I assume you cleaned the needle and seat good. Were the primary needles moving smoothly/ not jammed or stuck?. If the needle and seat looked clean and the primaries are working like they are supposed to then I would just lower the float and try it again.

Got a hold of Cliff, Short conversation and he steered me exactly where I needed to go, Great guy.
Basic rebuild kit was purchased, used the 72 Dated Q-Jet that was organic to my Burb and runs great. No more re manufactured crap.
