I believe it does not go over the exhaust manifold. It goes from the wire bundle that is on the clip held by one of the transmission bell housing bolts on the passenger side, past the distributor and up on top of the engine intake manifold and runs the length of the driver side valve cover, and then down the front of the engine and under the end of the exhaust manifold, and then to the sensor. The cloth cover or tube goes on the wire where it lays on the engine.
