Re: Hello from Prescott, Arizona

Hey Kurt, I see you've been here a little bit already. But welcome to the site. I saw 89A and it caught my attention. I lived for a while between Flagstaff and Sedona in Mountainaire. My girlfriend's mom lived in Prescott, so made a few trips there, including a crazy 4th of July weekend. This was 1980 I think. I've been back but not for almost 20 years. I bet things have changed. Back then mountain bikes had not caught on yet and I had a clunker I built from an old Columbia balloon tire bike with springer fork. Pretty advanced since manufactured mt bikes didn't get suspension till years later. I just found the frame in a farm dump up on a mountain and thought it was interesting. Then found out about Clunkers in Marin County and Crested Butte, searched out parts, fabbed a little and ended up with a trick little bike for riding in that wonderful area.
I enjoyed reading your "tales of truck" as well as seeing the pictures. sorry for the rambling, your thread hit a nostalgic nerve.
