Springs alone won't make drastic changes. Finding a "HP" Turbo Buick or Monte Carlo SS Valve Body & Governor will be the BEST starting point.

I stopped building 700R4 & 2004R because it was always assumed that tuning shift points is included in a rebuild. I got scars up & down my arms pulling Governors. People ask if I got a skin condition.....I have a "Got Burnt 100,000 times" condition!!

Take the Governor Springs completely out & see what it does....If it still shifts early....Lighter springs will obviously not fix it.
