Not sure if you found your answer or not, but I had an old Ford Sedan with a three on the tree. I forever had a clutch chatter that would rattle your teeth. Turns out, the throwout bearing was a bit larger in diameter than the sleeve it would run on. So the bearing was chattering on the sleeve as it was being engaged. If that makes sense. LOL
