New around here and have been away from the early Chevy trucks for a few years now (building a '64 Chevy II). However, just picked up a '70 Longhorn project.
Lifted my SWB '72 (sold several years back) approximately 6" by using 2" Rancho aftermarket coils and dropping the k-member 4". The complete front suspension stays in-tack this way, thus leaving the alignment alone, etc. If I remember correctly you do need to raise the motor mounts back to the stock location. All said and done the truck cleared 33" tires nicely.
The rear of the '72 had leaf springs, so that was an easy deal.
When I get a chance, I will try and get some pictures up.
Been thinking of doing the same to my '70.
