What do you think?

Ok, so I am looking at a truck 1972 Cheyenne Super C/20 400 Automatic. It has a tilt column from a late model van and that is probably where the seat came from too. It is a true C20 Super, but the original radio has been cut out, and there are holes in the doors for speakers. The body is decent, I took a magnet around and found mud in the corner (I figured that) and there are some dings an dents here and there but nothing horrible. The owner has not had the truck long but it seems as though it is not the original 400. It was also factory with an auxiliary fuel tank, but it was not there, it must have been taken off and shaved, or a different bed was put on, but the cab did still have the switch next to the gauges. The AC is not hooked up, but overall it runs and looks sorta decent.

I am buying this for the long haul and want to end up investing money into a decent resto. You think it is worth paying 2500? Or should I wait it out and try to find a short bed that is optioned out? I am on a limited budget, but Texas seems to have a decent variety, but low in short beds!
