I think they mostly just drilled out the rail for the top two mounts at the dealer and then reused the lower bed bolt. My bracket had the matching original paint but was mounted at the rear (which doesn't sound standard). The top holes were not tapped, just drilled. It had very little surface corrosion in the hole, maybe because it was high up and didn't get too wet over the years.
I investigated all that so I could prep it when I moved it forward and to the other side.
