I have a 68c10 stepside.
I went from a 4spd Muncie to a 5spd NV-4500
The Nv-4500 came in both Chevy and Dodge gas and diesel pickups starting in the early 90's to the mid 2000's (you dont want one out of a Diesel, the input shaft of the trans is to big). The trans you want is the early year Dodge gas Rwd. The early trans has the manual speedo output where the later models are electric. You will have a hard time finding a good used trans that's out of a rwd truck, i purchased a rebuilt one from a place in Arizona. See the list below to get you started.
