Re: 66 GMC long story longer...

Well not that anybody cares about floors but I'll sure be happy when it's over.
I had to go rogue and just start getting metal in it. Had to go back farther than anticipated. I'm not waiting for anymore panels. I couldn't even find the upper section. Other than a complete fire wall.

The fit of the stuff I have bought is so approximate that its a struggle to figure out what is correct or close enough. I'm no body man but I have put a fair amount of sheet metal into old cars. Fabbing patches is easy. You replicate what your removing. Buying new ones you get what you get and it may look like what your taking off but the fit is terrible.

The joint where the floor meets the kick panel was rotted and had residential silicone in it when I bought it. I pulled a section out to duplicate. Then determined I could save time and have better joint design if I went my own way.

The whole concept of the floorboards doubling as an inner fender really sucks.
Then you have the groove at the back of the hood draining right down the joint.
What the hell was the point of all of that?

Anyhow this is the way I went.
