Agreed, I don't think these tanks are intended to be used on a Blazer, not intended to be under the cab, and I don't think they were supposed to fill in the wells. This is just how it happened to work out when adapting them to a Blazer. The reason a lot of guys move the tank from the cab to the rear is to gain more space in the cab. Sorry to say but if a main concern is safety these trucks are not the best choice, they do not have reinforced doors, or airbags or crumple zones, hell they didn't even come standard with shoulder belts. I don't think a heavy thickwall outboard saddle tank is any more dangerous than the cab mounted tank or any of a number of other lacking safety features.
