If you build it, they will crawl...
Got my Doubler setup from Jed's machining this week.
Too messy a process to snap many pictures mid-stream.
1) Start with a 32 spline np 205 and a messy np203 from a th350
2) Seperate the range box from the 203, scrap the rest
3) Drink Beer
4) Use at least 4 cans of WD40 and Degreaser and 2 boxs of rags to get down through 1/2" of grease and grime until you find metal under-there
5) Drink beer
6) Put your new Billit intermediate shaft back in the 203 range box, with 15 fat needles, and 1 itty bitty one that holds the notched washer thing
7) Drink Beer
8) Brake a couple pairs of snap ring pliers, curse, run to lowes and the beer store multiple times.
9) Drink 2 Beers
10) Curse again while getting the 15 fat needles in 2 different spots to all stay put while installing gears and shafts.
11) Beer
12) Change out the Rear output on the 205 to get away from the slip yoke
13) Change out the Front input to a 32 spline short and sell the 32 spline long on ebay
14) Beer and Beer
15) Grind off the tab on the 203 bearing retainer plate and bolt it up to the 205 with Jeds adapter.
16) Use up your last squirt of RTV and run back to the store for more
17) Beer (once home)
16) Do a pre-hookup of the shifting bracket and make sure it goes thorugh all the gears.
17) Beer?
18) Add a coat of Rustoleum Primer, and wait for it to dry
19) Clean your hands, snap a pic, and watch it dry while enjoying a Beer.
20) Tonight will add the Flat Black top-coats
& this weekend hopefully, it will magically walk or float over and get under the truck and bolt itself up with all the cross-members. Can you say heavy and awkward?
haha
