Did you use some sort of thrust bearing/washer on the cam gear? You may not have to, but on mine I ran the Summit billet 9 keyway double roller chain with Torrington bearing to protect the block. The 3/4" big block thrust button worked fine on that setup.

The Comp kit came with a cam sprocket that did not have bearing or bushing so I guess they don't think it required, but I felt better about long term reliability with it.
