'73-up internal Blazer S/T carriers are completely different from our first generation carrier. First generations are sheet metal construction that mount the spare so that it sits sideways behind the rear seat (if you have one) or behind the driver's seat if you don't. '73-ups are tube construction that mount the spare so that it sits front to rear on the passenger's side behind the rear seat.

My first generation S/T carrier cost me $60 with shipping. My $0.02
