I don't know that engine or carb., but if the canister has PCV, CARB, and TANK ports, then the 5/16" vapor line connects to TANK; a vacuum line connects the carburetor to CARB; and a 1/4" PCV/EEC hose connects the 3/8" PCV hose to PCV. On my BBC, the 1/4" PCV line connects to the 3/8" PCV hose with a tee. I don't know why yours would be different. My vacuum line (CARB) connects to the Rochester carburetor's passenger side upper front port.

A bum hose, canister vacuum diaphragm or cracked canister can affect performance. And if you smell fumes in the garage it probably needs a new/rebuilt tested canister. There's a thread nearby discussing an option using a replacement canister. They don't make the old 1971-72ish cans anymore.

Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM trucks, and to a lessor degree all 67-72 GM vehicles. My build thread, and more on the guide https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025
