Yippee - passed my annual inspection!

My truck went in for it's annual MoT (Ministry of Transport) test. This is a fairly tough annual test that all vehicles over three years old have to pass here in the UK to be road legal. The only thing that is easier for older vehicles are the emission requirments.

After having the new propshaft centre bearing, UJ's and rear gearbox seal replaced (I had arranged for this to be done beforehand) it failed the test.............. no low beam on the headlights, seems the dip switch finally died, it worked OK this morning on the way to the testing station but musta been on the way out, my great mechanics pirated one off another truck in their workshop , had it retested and it passed ... Yippeee! This seems to have sorted out my dash light problems as well, so must have been the dying switch to blame. Have a new one on order so they can have theirs back. Ufortunately I can't just walk down the road to the nearest auto parts store and buy one, have to go to a specialist.

Great news as I have been without my truck for nearly a month waiting for the parts to come in to do the shaft. There are sack loads of garden rubbish waiting to be dumped as the wife has been in Autumn (Fall) gardening frenzy mode, cutting down everything in site, oh and the bathroom sink to go too, guess I'm gonna be busy for a while!
