In the article posted here is was because that Ford and Dodge trucks looked more masculine... GM didn't care for the more delicate car-like look, and they tried to "toughen up" the profile and image of the truck... And yes, the design team was not amused. Kind of went against everything they tried to do with the truck with the design change.

I still prefer the hood and appearance of the 67-68 trucks. I believe them to be the best looking...

So much so, in fact, that my '68 Anniversary truck actually uses a 1970 cab, and is titled as such. I built it as a '68 as much as I could, as it's the one I like....

So there you go. True confession. If you know my truck, and see me, you can call me on it and I'll tell you the truth...
