Funny you should mention that, I had been planning on doing that with the bumper rather than that cross member and when I was taking these pictures, I realized that I can't feet first mount a winch behind the bumper because this cross member is in the way.
I'll figure something out when I get there though. I plan on utilizing that spring mount cross member for part of the bumper mount. Think a "quickly removable receiver hitch" kind of system.
