Turn signal issue, new harness, old aftermarket switch.
Hello all,
I've installed a new Rebel wire harness in my '59 Apache. It has been a breeze to wire, with tye exception of one aspect. I've hooked up an old switch that I have. I'll attach wire diagrams to this post. All four parking lights work properly. When I pull the knob out for hazards, they all four function properly. When I signal left or right, the rear turn indicators work as they should! HOWEVER, when I signal left or right, I am getting BOTH front turn indicators flashing!
I have an LED flasher installed in the fuse panel, replacing the original flasher. I have LED bulbs in my brake/tail lights, and incandescent bulbs up front for parking and turn signals. Funny, trying to diagnose this morning, I disconnected the blue wire out of the switch from the brown "hazard" wire in my wire harness. Ironically, it did not change the behavior, and my hazards still work! I think that the switch takes care of the hazard function.
So, here's how I'm hooked up:
Function - Harness wire - Switch color
RF TURN - BLUE - GREEN
LF TURN - LT. BLUE - YELLOW
RR TURN - GREEN - BROWN
LR TURN - YELLOW - ORANGE
Parking lights - BROWN
Brake Light Switch - White - RED
FLASHER - PURPLE - BLACK
HAZARDS - BROWN - BLUE (disconnected this today, no change!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
