The C5 filter / regulator is NOT the part you want when using the return-line style engines. That is for the second run of LS stuff with the "returnless" fuel rails.
I used an LS1 Camaro fuel filter with my return-line type LS swap. Annoying to plumb without resorting to AN fittings but it can be done cheap and, I'm sure, with AN it's easy.
