just gettin around to the heater part on my 1960 Apache "revitilization". Ordered a cable kit from LMC and was scratchin my head on the heater valve cable not bein long enough. I made one off a lawn mover but it was too hard to move and likely woulda snapped off the heater control arm. I looked inside the core body and its set up with 2 cable clamps, front and back. So I drilled a hole in the firewall and another in the backside of the heater body, same as in the pic above, and the LMC cable is now long enough.
Guess thats why Chevy changed it up.
