A lot of pretty funny, and a lot of good advice. Not sure I agree completely about everything, but...

The truck is a hobby/toy, not a need. Therefore the money spent on it is the last few pennies that are available. Then again, I troll the scrap yards for the cheapest parts so I don't spend much on the truck. My labor is counted as free.

At the same time, if someone doesn't have a 401k or other retirement plan set up, they should, regardless of age. Similarly, you, me, whoever, should be saving something every paycheck, regardless of how little and investing it. Finally, there should be a rainy day fund of cash in the bank for daily disasters that should be added to until you (me and everybody) has cash in short term funds to pay 3-6 months expenses (that should be 6-12 but..,).

The above sounds difficult, but it really isn't. start small and work your way up.

Really, if the truck is a DD, billet parts aren't needed. Good brakes, etc. are.
