It has been brought to my attention that if you are using the AAW wiring kit for custom applications, they recommend not using an amp gauge.

Also if you are using a 100 + amp alternator, the factory amp gauge and wiring will not support the extra amp output from the alternator.

If you are using the "factory fit" AAW kit with a stock alternator, then you will be OK with the factory amp gauge.
