Well, its not quite the bells and whistles we have today, but forty years ago, im sure it was modern technology. A red light on your dash would alert you to drive to the side of the road using your emergency brake. Sorta, gives you aheads up, before your foot goes to the floor, and you panic with no brakes
It wasnt too long ago that we had cable actuated brakes, i think hydraulics is afar cry better.
