The seller said it was unused due to the orig owner becoming disabled and the rest of the family never drove it because they were not familiar with a standard trans. It sat in a garage since forever.
That much of the story is nearly identical to the history of my own 1966, 8900 miler. What is not the same is my truck is still totally untouched and looks fantastic, with three times the usage. Orig tires too.
On the ebay truck, the wear and age present as well as the repaint work are a concern, though I don't necessarily disbelieve the guy.
